PhD graduation ceremony

In 2017 the Faculty of Health will introduce a new, festive tradition to celebrate the degree conferment for PhD graduates and new doctors – a celebration of the successful completion of their studies and research.

The ceremony will be held twice a year in May and November.

The first ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 31 May 2017 at 3 p.m. in the University’s Aula. The ceremony will contain ceremonial and festive speechs, presentation and distribution of diplomas, awarding of the JCD prize and musical entertainment followed by a reception.

Moving day of the JCD Prize
From 2017 the JCD Prize (the good PhD Supervisor) will be awarded at the new graduation ceremony and no longer at the PhD day, as previously.

The award was founded by the PhD Association in 2012 in the name of Professor, DMSc Jens Christian Djurhuus, in honour of his long-standing work with PhD students.
In addition to the honour, the winner is awarded DKK 25,000.
