Zonta International has the mission of “Empowering women”. This encompasses fighting violence against women, ensuring equal legal rights and encouraging women to educate themselves also in areas that have traditionally been male domains.
Zonta Denmark decided in 2011 to put a focus on women’s abilities to do research in natural science and technology by establishing an award for a female PhD student working with these subjects at a Danish university.

Applicants have to be under 45 years of age and be active PhD students enrolled at a Danish university.

The award is 50.000 DKK plus free membership of a Danish Zonta Club for 2 years.

The awardee will have to give a Zonta talk at a Danish university or high school. She can choose her own subject in collaboration with the local Zonta Club.

Applications for the 2017 Award must be send to Birthe Jastrup, e-mail: jastrup@privat.dk, no later than 15 July 2017. Applicant should use the application form to be found on the Zonta Denmark website http://zonta.dk/hvad-goer-vi/legater/nationale/
