Mattia Sist

In his Ph. D. project Mattia Sist has studied the crystal structure of IV-VI semiconductors and caesium halides.

IV-VI semiconductors formed from elements of column IV (Ge, Sn, Pb) and VI (S, Se, Te) of the periodic table feature a broad range of fascinating properties, e.g. the ability to convert waste heat into electricity. Caesium halides are extremely simple structures which possess an unusual low thermal conductivity. The focus of this project has been the temperature behavior of the crystalline structure, with particular analysis of how the atoms displace, e.g. due to thermal energy.   

The PhD degree was completed at iNANO and Department of Chemistry, Science and Technology, Aarhus University.
