The pre-proposals must be joint AU-NN projects with named supervisors from both AU and NN, but not necessarily named PhD candidates. The research areas are within technologies, which for example could be Bioinformatics/Big data, mRNA regulation, Drug Delivery and Tissue Targeting, Imaging and in vitro Display Technologies, Structural Biology, Membrane Proteins and Protein Stability, or New Synthetic and DNA-programmed Chemistry. The short pre-proposals are completed on the attached template and mailed to Novo Nordisk at AUNNmail@novonordisk.com by 1 May 2017.

Among the incoming pre-proposals, the AU-NN Joint Steering Committee will select three proposals in mid- May. Supervisors for the selected projects will be asked to write full application to the Innovation Fund Denmark and identify a talented PhD candidate. By 1 August 2017, the PhD candidate will apply for conditional approval by the Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST) with expected decision mid-September. The application will be submitted to the Joint Steering Committee for review and approval by 25 August 2017, and the final application is submitted to the Innovation Fund Denmark by the NN main supervisor by 25 September 2017.
