Aarhus University partners with Aarhus 2017

Aarhus is the European Capital of Culture in 2017 and Aarhus University will collaborate on a wide range of different activities.

Aarhus 2017 marks Aarhus as the European Capital of Culture. The activities will focus on the theme "Rethink" and take place around the city throughout the year.

Aarhus is the European Capital of Culture in 2017. Aarhus University (AU) is involved in a wide range of specific activities and projects which will contribute to growth, insight and development.

AU’s researchers and students are broadly represented in everything from research and development projects to conferences and events – both as initiators, drivers and partners.

rethinkIMPACTS 2017

rethinkIMPACTS 2017 consists of a number of research and evaluation activities which investigate the impact of being the European Capital of Culture. rethinkIMPACTS 2017 is a strategic partnership with Aarhus 2017 and the primary focal point for AU’s efforts.

Aarhus 2017 Academy

2017 Academy is a forum which, through a variety of activities, will rethink the relationship between knowledge, art, culture and businesses, e.g. with student-driven network meetings, pop-up laboratories, summer schools and events. 2017 Academy has been established as a strategic partnership between VIA University College, Aarhus University and Aarhus 2017 and will be realised in collaboration with a number of players from the cultural sector and the creative industries in Central Denmark Region.
