Time 11:21    11:21

Film in the Forest (Film i Skoven) is Aarhus' biggest culture festival for children and their families. It offers an exciting programme of film, live music, dance workshops, creative workshops, LEGO play area, and tasty food and drink for the whole family.

And yes - it is in the forest!

The festival takes place in beautiful Riis Skov, just to the north of Aarhus C on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of May when Spring is in full swing. The festival is in it's third year and is always well-attended by international families.

The 17th of May is Stor Bededag - a national holiday in Denmark - and the festival is a great way to spend some quality time together as a family.

The 18th of May the UIC International Playgroup will be gathering at the workshop tent from 10.45 to 11.15am. The workshop will be done in both English and Danish and there is a 15 minute window for everyone to continue the activity outside before the related film starts at the Tipi Tent Cinema at 11.30am.

The festival director Katharine Simpson (who is British herself) says "There is so much to do at the festival, even if you don't speak Danish, it's easy for everyone to take part in the creative workshops, listen to great music, dance, explore the art and decorations in the forest, or relax in the sun with a good cup of coffee, an ice cream or something tasty to eat. This year we have films from Japan, Kenya, Germany, the UK and much more. All films are presented in Danish, but there are also films with no dialogue that can be enjoyed by everyone. Some of Denmark's biggest children's entertainment stars are attending the festival including DR Ramasjang's Onkel Reje, musician Thomas Buttenschøn and the 8 year old Youtube star Naja Munster and her mother"
