Lærdansk – more than Danish courses

Lærdansk Aarhus has a unique volunteer environment, where international staff and accompanying partners from Aarhus University can benefit from the help of Danish volunteers and from being volunteers.

Volunteer at Lærdansk

200 volunteers are connected to Lærdansk Aarhus, and one of them is accompanying partner Subhadra Veluchamy from India, who has a coordinating role in the IT-Café. She came to Aarhus in 2016 and was looking for a place where she could expand her network and learn new skills while helping others. At Lærdansk she helps internationals with technical issues and acts as a team leader for the volunteers in the IT-Café. When you ask Subhadra what she likes about being a volunteer, she replies: "I get to practice and improve my Danish language skills, meet people from all over the world and learn new skills."

Subhadra also receives help from the volunteers at the Jobklub, who help her with applying for jobs in Denmark within administration, communication, and HR. Actually, more than 500 internationals visit the 15 voluntary activities at Lærdansk on a weekly basis.

For an overview of the voluntary activities please view Lærdansk's voluntary offers, or contact Jacob Møller (+45 5219 8209).

When and where?

All the activities are at Paludan-Müllers Vej 82, 8200 Aarhus N, which is within walking distance from the University, and bus 2A and 6A stop just outside the school. Most activities are between 10.30 and 18.00 (10:30 am and 6 pm) Monday to Thursday.

You can benefit from the voluntary activities at Lærdansk even if you have not started your Danish course yet, but you will learn more by combining it. You can choose between Crash courses and evening courses at Aarhus University or courses held at Lærdansk premises either in the morning, afternoon, evening or on Saturdays.
Lærdansk also offers tailored one-to-one courses and two-to-one courses, which allow the teaching to focus even more on your specific requirements and goals. Read more about the your options on here.

Online learning

If your schedule does not allow you to attend a class with a specific schedule, you can join Netdansk, our 100% online lessons within the Danish Language Education system.
