Stand for the university elections

If you are interested in standing for election at the university elections – and gain influence on your work and study conditions as a PhD student – you can register your candidacy from Thursday 17 October to Friday 25 October.

2019.10.10 | Liv Frank

This year, PhD students (both enrolled and employed) can stand for election to the Board, the Academic Councils and the PhD committees. If you are enrolled in a master’s programme as well as at a PhD programme you can also vote and stand for election for the Boards of Studies.

When?
You can register your candidacy from Thursday 17 October at 9:00 to Friday 25 October at 12:00. It is a good idea to submit your candidacy registration form electronically as early as possible in the period so that any errors can be corrected before the deadline expires.

Gain influence on your work and study conditions as a PhD student
The university elections are your chance to influence decisions regarding your PhD programme and your workplace
through the university’s democratic decision-making bodies.

PhD students have the right to be represented at PhD committee meetings, which gives them voting rights. But this requires that representatives stand for election and get voted in.

Hear PhD student Peter Weber Jensen from Department of Agroecology talk about why good representation in the PhD committee is so important:

The elections will be held from 11 to 14 November.
