What is the 3MT?
Every year, Aarhus University invites its PhD students to participate in the 3MT competition. In 2023, the competition will be held in Stakladen at Aarhus University on 22 March 2023. As a participant in 3MT, you will present your research project in three minutes for an audience of non-specialists with only one static slide – and no other resources. You will be taken through a communication workshop and feedback sessions before the competition. This challenging exercise develops presentation, research and academic communication skills and supports the development of capacity to explain your work effectively and focus on rhetoric, body language, voice control and specific 3MT delivery skills. The internal winner at AU receives a DKK 35,000 travel grant.
Apply no later than January 26th

Workshop on Communication
Storytelling is a crucial competence for any researcher and a skill that is highly valued in other sectors as well. Structure, visualizations and delivery go hand in hand when presenting research, and these elements will be the focus of the workshop that is offered as part of the 3MT competition and conducted by research communication expert, Linda Greve.
As participant you will get tools for creating a coherent narrative, supporting it visually and delivering it authentically and compellingly. Linda Greve will also take part in the feedback session where you will get her feedback on your presentation.
