Individual career counselling
As a PhD/postdoc at AU you have the possibility to get free career counselling sessions with one of our career coaches, where you can get new perspectives on your career. It is up to you what you want to discuss, and the session will be tailored towards your needs and wishes and it is of course confidential.
Some of the most asked questions are:
- What can I do with a PhD degree/Postdoc within my field?
- What are my strengths and competencies and where can I use them?
- Where do I want my career to continue?
- Feedback on CV and cover letter
- Training for job interviews

Get Feedback on Your CV: Workshop on CV Writing

Location: Meeting Room 1, Building 1420
Join this workshop and work on your own CV for jobs in the private or public sector. We will cover the structure and content of your CV; profile descriptions, and tips on translating your academic skills for a non-academic context. After a mix of presentations, group work and individual work, you will come out of the workshop with an almost finished CV.

Workshop: Social media networking for PhDs and Postdocs
Break out of your own social media filter bubble! In this workshop you will learn how to use social media to boost your impact, to network with your peers, and to get access to opportunities - in both academia and industry.
You will learn how to exploit the platforms LinkedIn and Twitter ('X') as professional tools to shape your information environment and avoid unnecessary distraction.
You will get practical tips on:
- Communicating effectively on the platforms
- Meeting the right people, optimising your networking, and engaging others in your research process
- Maintaining a sustainable social media routine that fits into your working day

Prerequisites: All participants should have a LinkedIn and Twitter ('X') and be acquainted with the two platforms before the workshop. A short set-up guideline will be sent to you one week beforehand.
Workshop instructor: Mike Young, is a former editor of the University Post at the University of Copenhagen. His agency Mike Young Academy specialises in social media career courses for researchers.

On September 21 Agro Food Park is hosting their annual Career Day. Here you will get the chance to meet 35 companies in the Danish food cluster.
