Break out of your own social media filter bubble!

In this workshop you will learn how to use social media to boost your impact, to network with your peers, and to get access to opportunities — in both academia and industry.

You will learn how to exploit the platforms LinkedIn and Twitter ('X') as professional tools to shape your information environment and avoid unnecessary distraction.

You will get practical tips on:

  • Communicating effectively on the platforms
  • Meeting the right people, optimising your networking, and engaging others in your research process
  • Maintaining a sustainable social media routine that fits into your working day

This workshop will have you meeting new collaboration partners and getting inspired by other researchers’ ideas.

Prerequisites: All participants should have a LinkedIn and Twitter ('X') and be acquainted with the two platforms before the workshop. A short set-up guideline will be sent to you one week beforehand.

Workshop instructor: Mike Young, is a former editor of the University Post at the University of Copenhagen. His agency Mike Young Academy specialises in social media career courses for researchers.
