Welcome to the New Year of 2022! We hope that you spent the Christmas Holidays on recharging and relaxing.
With the arrival of January, our team at AU Career PhD & JR is welcoming more than the New Year. We are glad to announce the arrival of our new colleague, Miriam Kobbersmed, who will be taking over Dorte's position within our team. We look forward to having her on board.

Miriam has a background in French studies, with a PhD in French language and literature from Aarhus University. She has experience working as a high school teacher in French and Danish and latest as a paralegal/IP Administrator within intellectual property consulting, so she can bring a lot experience to the table in the development and facilitation of courses, along with presentation and public speaking skills. She is also personally familiar with the path from the academia to different work environments, which will be helpful as she begins career counsellings.
You will meet Miriam at our upcoming events, and later in the year you will also be able to book career counselling sessions with her.

In 3MT (3 Minute Thesis Competition), PhD students present their research project in three minutes for an audience of non-specialists with only one static slide – and no other resources. This challenging exercise develops presentation, research and academic communication skills and supports the development of the researcher’s capacity to explain their work effectively.
The competition is open for all PhDs, regardless of level, field, and nationality.
In 2022 the internal winner at AU will win a 35,000 DKK travel grant and the video of the performance will be submitted to the international competition held in the Coimbra Group of more than 35 European universities.
