Work Package 2 (WP2) aims to design and develop a doctoral supplement to cover broader activities, training and experiences with a particular focus on employability & mobility. It seeks to produce doctoral candidates who manage, own and value their personal and professional development as actively as their doctoral thesis.
WP2 is being delivered through a series of project phases: research, design, implementation preparation as well as planning for evaluation and impact measurement. Initial desk research and the collation of case studies have been used to inform a preliminary design for the doctoral supplement. Discussions with colleagues in the two universities are being used to revise the initial outline prior to it being finalised ready for implementation. These discussions have just commenced and look to engage a range of stakeholders: doctoral candidates, supervisors, careers and researcher development professionals, and senior management (as appropriate).
